VCPAC Victor Gim Inspirational Student Award

George Jay Elementary School would like to congratulate Hailey Prescott, winner of the VCPAC Victor Gim Inspirational Student Award. Hailey has been a member of the George Jay School community since 2010 when she entered Kindergarten. Since this time Hailey has made a profound difference in the lives of both George Jay students and staff. Hailey has a very optimistic approach to life and inspires us all to strive to be better people. Wise beyond her years, Hailey exemplifies the true meaning of putting others above self and accepting everyone for who they are and where they are at. We wish Hailey well as she will be leaving to enter Grade six at Central Middle School this September! Hailey2

Glenn teaching us about carpentry

Glenn teaching us about carpentry

On Friday June 10th, George Jay had our very first school Maker Faire.  The kindergarten classes showcased their kite inquiry project and the grade 2-5 students shared their passion project with the parents and their peers.  Community organizations were invited to share their passions and skills with our students.  You can read more about the event by reading Tania Wegwitz’s article here.
